† The Costly Anointing †

Bible fun fact: Every quote Jesus used against Satan was from the book of Deuteronomy.

The Costly Anointing

Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. John 12:23 ESV

Mary anointed the feet of Jesus. She saw something in Him that she had never seen in anyone else. He was special. There had never been anyone like this. Judas complained because it was worth a year’s wages, and he felt that it was wasted on Jesus. What a stark contrast two people had when looking at the same Man.

God sees the value in us and each of us are precious to Him, yet the devil sees us as a waste. We constantly have this battle going on inside of us. The bad thoughts, rejection and worthlessness, come from the enemy. The good thoughts, acceptance, and understanding, come from God the Father.

Do not listen to the enemy’s lies. The past is gone. Shake it off and try again. God will anoint you with a costly anointing because you are worth it, and He sees you as precious, just as Mary did with Jesus.
